it’s a damn shame…

Yesterday I went to the open skate at the Windy City Rollers practice space and it was pretty awesome. I fell in love with the practice space (random bras hanging up everywhere?) and felt crazy intimidated when I realized that I was early enough to catch a Second Wind (our B Team) practice (which was intense as hell!)

After some waiver signings and quick introductions Rose Feratu began the practice. And it was quite amazing!

I learned how to crossover (TAKE IT BITCH), do a T Stop and another stop (forget what it was called, but it was when you push your toes together), line jumps and a few other techniques.

I was sweaty and disgusting but I felt really good. AND my asthma didn’t even start acting up until the end of the our two hour work out. So yeah!!!!

Also leaving that practice space made me realize something. I want to do this. I want to be able to practice there each week. I want to be able to perform awesome tricks like Bellatrix and Tamikaze.

I want new Derby approved skates and I want to try out this July.

So here I am, editing my resume and applying to jobs nonstop. Not because I need one, not because I finally realized that rent is going to be due soon, but because I want to become a Windy City Roller.

Haha, at least I found motivation to stop being a bum at home?

Oh! And I managed to run into a padded wall and fall on my ass. I call that a good day!

back to reality!

Disney World was awesome! Here is a quick photo that I stole from my bestie (he’s the one with the AWESOME pose :p). I finally went to all four parks this time and even got to speak French at EPCOT! YEAH IT’S NOT A FAIL MAJOR! :p Also stocked up on French chocolate. If anyone I know is currently in France, send me some. >.> I miss it so!

So back to life it is. I’m a bit sick but that’s nothing a Supernatural/Borgias marathon can’t fix! :)

In Derby related news, I’m thinking about delaying my tryouts. I really don’t want to but I don’t know if I’ll be able to afford health insurance by myself. ): I’m used to my university doing that for me, so I guess I will have to wait until the fall. Boo. Oh well, I guess this gives me more time to practice.
